Your opportunity 

 

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Civil Engineering Student in our Fredericton or Saint John office.  This position would be full time in office or on site.  Students may be involved in road reconstruction, linear infrastructure design, trail and bike path detailed design, transportation and municipal planning, tender preparation, construction administration, and construction/site observation.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

 

  • Contribution to the design and construction of municipal and/or transportation engineering projects including preliminary design, detailed design and construction phase services
  • Participation in site reconnaissance, field investigations & construction observation 
  • Assistance to project managers, engineers and planners in the delivery of projects undertaken out of our offices
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, land use planners, environmental scientists and technical support staff
  • Compliance with corporate, client, and site-specific health and safety protocols and programs and applicable health and safety regulations
  • Assistance in report writing and preparation of technical memos, letters, reports and proposals
  • Completion of field work will be required as necessary 
  • Utilization of MS Office, AutoCAD and Civil3D software
  • Business travel upon request

  • Civil Engineering Student

Experience

  • Committed to a culture of quality including keen attention to detail;
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated abilities to work in multidisciplinary team and independently;
  • Experience on active construction sites and knowledge of standard health and safety practices and legislation;
  • Knowledge of design guidelines and standards, legislation and policies will be considered an asset;
  • Passionate about personal and professional growth, working collaboratively to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations, and developing innovative solutions; and;
  • Capable of working independently and ability to proactively identify and address concerns that may arise when completing fieldwork.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to use of a vehicle for work purposes including an automobile insurance policy.
