Your opportunity

Dillon’s Electrical discipline group is looking for an Electrical Technologist to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

 

Design & Drafting

  • Assist Electrical Engineers and Project Managers with the design and drafting support for multi-disciplinary projects
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, specifications, and project memos
  • Assist with electrical calculations including voltage drop, load calculations, short circuit analysis and Arch Flash studies

On-site observation

  • Performance of electrical observations and inspections during construction
  • Review shop drawings, respond to request for information from contractors
  • Commissioning of on-site systems
  • Business travel upon request

Learning & Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • An electrical engineering technologist diploma
  • Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist or eligibility to be certified within six months
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Experience

  • Two to three years’ work experience, however less experienced professionals will be considered
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2014 (or newer)
  • Working knowledge of Revit as a Building Information Management (BIM) design tool
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and related building codes
  • Microstation experience is an asset
  • Hands-on experience in the design and drafting of electrical systems is required

 

Compensation

$47,900 - $77,100

Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
