Dillon’s Transportation & Facilities technical group is looking for a Transportation Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

 

Project Management & Design

  • Leading and managing design teams in the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects including transportation master plans, environmental assessments, preliminary engineeringand detailed design, preparation of tender documents, and engineering services during construction
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary project teams including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, land use planners, environmental scientists, and technical support staff
  • Ensuring designs meet governing body standards and engineering best practices
  • Setup and coordination of multi-disciplinary detailed design drawing sets
  • Contribution to the delivery of stakeholder consultation programs and municipal council and agency presentations
  • Liaison and coordination with sub-consultants including survey and geotechnical investigations
  • Oversee and review designs from the team.  Participate in workflow planning for design/drafting team members
  • Support in the development of project management plans
  • Monitor budget and revenue estimates

 

Business Development

  • Contribution to the development of client relationships and new business opportunities
  • Business travel to client locations and/or other Dillon offices for the purposes of executing your responsibilities, internal/external client relationship development, opportunity/project research, acquisition and project delivery

 

Learning & Development

  • Input to the career development of staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
  • Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
  • A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

 

Education

  • A degree in civil engineering
  • Licensed with APEGA as a Professional Engineer or eligible within six months
  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
  • PTOE and/or RSP designation would be an asset

Experience

  • Experience managing teams of designers and drafters   
  • Experience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads, and intersections including urban and rural, new/greenfield and rehabilitation/reconstruction
  • Experience in the design of overpasses and interchanges would be an asset   
  • Familiarity with the environmental assessment requirements for municipal transportation facilities
  • Proven skills in public and agency consultation
  • Strong writing skills, including experience in the preparation of technical memos and reports
  • Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
