Dillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking for an Acoustics, Noise and Vibration Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

 

At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available at any of the following Dillon Ontario offices:  Toronto, Ottawa, Guelph, Kitchener

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

 

Project Management & Design 

  • Management of acoustics, noise and vibration projects for facilities (including oil and gas facilities, power generating facilities, and industrial/manufacturing facilities), transportation projects, Land Use Compatibility Assessments, etc.
  • Provision of technical support to junior level staff on project work including monitoring, modelling, development of abatement strategies, and regulatory liaison

Business Development 

  • Coordination of business development activities related to acoustics, noise and vibration services including proposal development and client liaison
  • Business travel upon request

Learning & Development 

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

 

  • A degree in mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience in environmental consulting or related experience in acoustics, noise and vibration
  • Licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months

Experience

  • Experience in many of the following areas of service:
  • environmental noise
  • building acoustics
  • land development assessment
  • noise monitoring
  • vibration monitoring and assessment
  • noise abatement
  • Knowledge of acoustic assessment study requirements and facility permitting procedures
  • An understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal laws, guidelines, and regulations pertaining to noise and vibration issues
  • Demonstrated abilities in project teamwork and client relationship building
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in an environment that provides quality, solution-oriented consulting services
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills
