Your opportunity 

Dillon’s Transportation & Facilities technical group is looking for an Senior Architect to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while gaining valuable exposure and experience in the consulting engineering industry.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like:

 

  • Commitment to provide leadership and contribute to the career development of staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
  • Manage and assist with projects for our government, institutional and industrial clients with a focus on environmental (water and wastewater plants and pump stations), industrial and commercial infrastructure across Canada as well as institutional/residential projects in Canada's far north.
  • Assist in the development of client relationships and business growth.
  • Provide design input, technical direction and instruction to other staff.
  • Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, asset management audits, space needs studies, preliminary and detailed design, contract document preparation and contract administration for a wide variety of projects.
  • Leadership of business development activities including proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees and periodic participation and presentations at industry/professional conferences.
  • Travel to other business locations and Dillon offices.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

 

  • A degree in Architecture.
  • Must be licensed to practice as an Architect, or eligible to be licensed within six months.
  • Demonstrated commitment to design excellence, team engagement and client satisfaction.
  • Critical thinker with the desire to analyze problems, research best-practices, consider and question multiple points of view, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to the team.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and graphic.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years related work experience in consulting.
  • Proven experience in creative collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Experience with low embodied carbon projects is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of low embodied carbon building design is highly desirable.
  • Experience in proposal writing is highly desirable.
