Your opportunity 

Dillon’s Planning & Design group is looking for a Planner to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

 

At Dillon, we operate as one team. The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices: Saint John, Moncton or Fredericton.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

 

Planning

  • Conduct consultation with Indigenous and municipal councils and committees  as it relates to  regulatory processes
  • Undertake community and environmental planning studies
  • Undertake and contribute to long range planning projects including municipal and regional land use plans and development regulations
  • Conduct public engagement and stakeholder consultation for municipal and regional land use planning projects
  • Contribute to environmental assessments including research, report writing, and stakeholder and regulatory consultation
  • Assist with the review and submission of development applications
  • Develop and coordinate client relationships and business growth in Atlantic Canada , in particular with land development and real estate clients, municipalities, and Indigenous communities
  • Become an active member of our national and local planning team

  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

 

  • A degree in planning, preferably at the Master’s level
  • Atleast five (5) years or more of relevant experience, preferably in the consulting industry. 
  • A full or provisional member in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) association or eligible to be a member within two years
  • Valid NB Class 5 driver’s license or provincial equivalent

Experience

  • Familiarity with development approvals process, sustainable community design,  urban redevelopment, stakeholder engagement and planning policy, and indigenous community planning
  • Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Strong communication, report writing, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
