Your opportunity 

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our dynamic Structures & Facilities team in the London, St. John's or Sydney office. This is your opportunity to work alongside industry experts on a diverse range of structural projects, enhancing your technical skills and advancing your career.

What You'll be Doing

Design & Technical Contributions

• Participate in the design and analysis of buildings, marine structures, equipment supports, and more.
• Assist in evaluating existing structures under various loading and maintenance conditions.
• Engage in structural condition assessments and prepare engineering reports with actionable recommendations.

Project Collaboration

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on innovative and complex projects.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and comprehensive reports.
• Conduct site visits to industrial and commercial locations, with occasional travel to other Dillon offices for cross-team collaboration.

Continuos Learning

• Benefit from mentorship by senior engineers and structured learning programs.
• Participate in professional associations and committees to expand your network and expertise.

What you'll bring

Educational and Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in structural design.
• Knowledge of Canadian structural codes and standards.
• Familiarity with design software such as STAAD, RISCA-3D, PCA, Mathcad, and AutoCAD.
• Comfortable working around industrial equipment and in active facility environments.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a practical, value-driven approach.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.

• 0–5 years of relevant experience in structural design or analysis, preferably related to facilities or buildings.
• Exposure to steel and concrete structures is an asset.
