Your opportunity

We are looking to add a Civil Engineer to fill an existing position who will play a hands-on role in delivering projects, building trusted client relationships, and supporting the continued development of our engineering services in the region.

Based in Yellowknife, you will be part of a close-knit team working directly with clients and communities across the Northwest Territories, while also supporting projects in Nunavut and Yukon as part of Dillon’s broader Northern practice.

You’ll be involved in projects from early discussions and planning through design and construction support, with the opportunity to build long-term relationships with territorial, municipal, federal, and

Indigenous clients. This is not a back-office role as you will be close to the work, the clients, and the decisions, with the ability to see projects move from concept to reality.

This role is well-suited to an engineer who enjoys variety, responsibility, and visibility, someone who is comfortable moving between technical delivery, client conversations, and project coordination, and who is motivated by seeing their work make a tangible difference in Northern communities.  While a civil/municipal background is preferred, success in this role is less about narrow specialization and more about initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to take ownership within a regional practice.

You will also work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Dillon’s offices nationwide, coordinating the right expertise for each project while maintaining a strong local presence. For the right person, this role offers the chance to develop broad exposure, regional credibility, and a well-rounded Northern career.
